I find that most movies made after a book really let me down. I do however really like most of the Harry Potter movies and I also like the books (I'm currently reading #5).
The movie Tuck Everlasting is MUCH different than the book and has a totally different ending, for that reason I am not a big fan of the movie.
Let's make this a blog about comparing movies and books of the same title. Please tell us the name of the movie / book and tell us which one you liked more and why? Of course other people are encouraged to write back to you about your choice in a RESPECTFUL way.
So do I (me too)
ReplyDeleteI have seen and really like the movie and I hope that we can talk about that on this blog too, even though I know this site is for the book.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite books was the Lightning Thief. I was extremely excited to see the movie when it came out, but was disappointed when I actually saw it. What I didn't like was how they took things out, but then added things in. I didn't like how much they changed some of the key ingredients to the book, but then also kept some of the less important parts. To me, it wasn't as interesting as the book, I enjoyed the images in my head more when I read the book, instead of watching it. In general it was an interesting movie, but when they messed with it that much, that really bugged me. I think I probably would have liked it more if I hadn't read the book.
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeletesame i liked the book more
ReplyDeleteP.s. i think the books are almost always better then the movies
I dreamed of sheperds pie last night
ReplyDeletenice dream jacob... anyway i saw the lightning theif movie too but before i read the book, and i liked it but the plot wasnt very good. and then i tried reading the book but i didnt like it. a book that i loved though is the red pyramid, which is much better than it sounds trust me, and the house of the scorpion which hana reccomended to me and i loved it so much i finished reading it today and i started on tuesday so i truely recommend those
ReplyDeletethe lightning thief movie disappointed me so so so much! although it was interesting, they messed up a lot of the main parts of the book :(
ReplyDeletealso has anyone read twilight? i read the first and reading the second book but i saw the first movie and both are really good except i think the book has more detail. that means the book wins again!
ReplyDeleteGreat book recommendations Rotem, I've also heard great things about Red Pyramid but I have to admit I have not read it yet.
ReplyDeleteKiana I agree with you that the Twilight books are superior to the movies. Even though I think the movies are ok I just picture Bella different in the books than she is in the movies.
My all time favorite book / movie is the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The books (3 of them) took me an entire summer to finish and were written with great detail. When the movies came out I was sure they would let me down, but I was very impressed with them.
Has anybody else read any of those books?
nope never heard of it
ReplyDeleteI am reading the Hobbit
ReplyDeletei want to read it but i can't find the books
ReplyDeleteP.S. the movie is good
I agree with Tema. And Jacob, that was really random!?
ReplyDeletei have heard of the lord of the ring series i read it it was AWESOME
ReplyDeleteDid any1 every read my sister's keeper?!?! it's really good but to movie's plot isn't really the same...i recommend the book not the movie.
ReplyDeletep.s Im on team BOOK!!!!
ReplyDeleteme too
ReplyDeletei agree about the lightning theif .....i didnt even read the book and knew it was very differeent
ReplyDeleteI think that the movie Ella Enchanted is so way better than the book. Both are really good, but the movies better.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I have not seen the movie or read the book, but I heard that the movie was pretty true to the book.
ReplyDeleteBooks will be forever superior because though a picture is supposedly "worth a thousand words" I know that many words (used correctly) can create far more interesting and powerful pictures. (P.S. Vote Muffin Man for Chef in Chief at http//www.yummy.food.baking//delicouscouncilofbaking and may the pastry be with you!!)
ReplyDeleteGO BOOKS! GO BOOKS! GO BOOKS! GO BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Books are so cool! (P.S. Seriously though, vote for me. I rock!)
ReplyDeletebooks are good, i agree. but movies can be very good sometimes too. mr. janow is the tuck everlasting movie that different from the book? are we going to watch it in class?
ReplyDeleteYes we are going to watch it in about 3 weeks. I am going to keep my opinions about the movie a mystery because I don't want to influence your opinions. We will watch the movie and create a compare and contrast chart in a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteI have a blog too now, come see! Go to this link: http://aidan-bassett.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeletemr janow how come u just said u would keep your opinions a secret when u say your opinion in class every time we bring it up? (sorry for ruining your little mystery)
ReplyDeleteHi Aiden. I figured out who you were. Evil Laugh. Moving on- I saw Tuck Everlasting when I was younger but I don't totally remember it. I'll I know, is that Winnie was a teenager, not a 10 year old, and she fell in love with one of the sons. What a difference!
ReplyDeleteNice costume Mr. Janow.
ReplyDeletehaha, yes
ReplyDeleteI am annoyed no one has used the blog for the past 2 days.
