Does anyone else think it is odd that he might like Winnie? Think about it, he is around 90 years old (although he looks young) and she is only about 13.
I think that Jesse doesn't like Winnie, but is trying to stay off topic, and keep her off track , with the intention that she will forget about the water.
Well Tema, probably, later on in the story they'll get to know each other more. And in the book it says that they knew the day a person would find out about this was going to happen...
winnie obviously LOVES jesse, and i think he likes her because he want a wife, someone not immortal to love him, and since she does not seem to mind that they are immortal and still likes them, i think that jesse thinks that she is his only hope of ever finding true love. ive finished the book and in future chapters it seems like jesse and miles are fighting over who will take winnie fishing, they each say good night to her, and it seems as if they both like her but jesse way more than miles.
I havent even read the chapter but......I THINK HE LIKES OR MIGHT LOVE HER!
